People have coveted natural pearls as symbols of wealth and status for thousands of years. Pearls are treasures from the Earth’s ponds, lakes, seas, and oceans, and they’ve always embodied the mystery, power, and life-sustaining nature of water.
The spherical shape of some pearls led many cultures to associate this gem with the moon. In ancient China, pearls were believed to guarantee protection from fire and fire-breathing dragons. In Europe, they symbolized modesty, chastity, and purity.
Pearls are simply and purely organic.
We use freshwater pearls and Akoya pearls. Freshwater pearl luster has more softer, more subtle glow than Akoya saltwater pearls due to the way in which light reflects and refracts off the various layers of crystal. Akoya pearls feature sharp, and highly reflective luster. It is very bright, with a very high rate of light return on the surface of the pearl.
Choose Akoya pearls, if you’re looking for a very special keepsake strand of pearls that will be treasured and cared for well over the years, and possibly handed down to the next generation. We use Akoya sea pearls in our legendary Coco collection since 2012.
We bring Akoya sea pearls directly from Japan and our freshwater pearls come from China.
Akoya pearls must be properly cared for to keep their crystal looking bright and shiny. These pearls are sensitive to oils, perfumes, smoke, chlorine and other chemicals found in our environment. Wipe them down with a damp, soft cloth every time after wearing to remove residues from the pearls’ surfaces

Important to know
Keep your pearls away from perfume, hairspray and fake tan.
Wipe pearls after use to remove any trace of perspiration or perfume.
A storage place that is too dry or airless, for example, a sealed plastic bag, will dry the pearl.
If pearls are carelessly stored in a jewellery box with other harder materials like diamonds or metal they will be scratched.
Never clean pearls with a toothbrush or scouring pad. Rub the pearl with your fingernail to remove the offending article. Fingernails have the same hardness as pearls and will therefore not scratch their surface. But the safest way to clean Your pearls is to have them cleaned by a reliable jeweller.
With proper care pearls will give their owner a lifetime of pleasure.
